Thanksgiving Day in the United States is a holiday on the fourth Thursday of November.
This celebration is based on the colonial Pilgrims’ 1621 harvest meal. The holiday continues to be a day for Americans to gather for a day of feasting, football and family. People in the US give thanks for what they have. Families and friends get together for a meal, which traditionally includes a roast turkey, stuffing, potatoes, vegetables, cranberry sauce, gravy, and pumpkin pie.
The day after is known as Black Friday.
